HM 35 "The Cellar" Bar & Restaurant |
The first Hot Millions outlet,
started in 1979, pioneered the concept of fast food in Chandigarh. It
was followed by Hot Millions 2 - its 186-item menu and recently
introduced video games proving an instant hit with an ever growing
clientele. Then came the turn of the Hot Millions Salad Bar and
Restaurant - an exclusive establishment offering an exhaustive range of
continental, Indian, Chinese, Italian and Mexican cuisine. The fourth
restaurant, also serving fast food, was started in the picturesque
surroundings of Nirjhar - Vatika, a beautiful Japanese garden carved out
by the Panchkula administration. Then it was back to Sector 17 with Down
Under, a pub and restaurant topped by a conference hall bristling with
state-of-the-art electronic gizmos. Now the restaurant at Vatika has
been moved to SCO 303 Sector 9, Panchkula. There is a Bar &
Restaurant called Tavern in the lower ground and the Family restaurant
on the upper ground and has received tremendous response. |

The restaurants cater to all age groups and all tastes. What makes the food even more delicious and the people coming back for more is the personal supervision in procuring, preparation and service of food. Col. Singh, the founder of the Hot Millions chain personally made the food purchases, while his wife, Harinder Mohini, a talented chef, still supervises the entire food production. The employees in the restaurants are mostly young boys who have been trained ab-initio. Generally a person who joins the organization seldom leaves because of the generous labour practices.
Hot Millions has taken to franchising their outlets to like-minded entrepreneurs. There are already four franchises in Mohali (Punjab), Sector 35 Chandigarh, Ludhiana (Punjab) and in Dharampur (Himachal Pradesh). |

The franchise in Mohali has one family restaurant and one restro-pub called "Knock Out" and the franchise in Chandigarh's sector 35, has one family restaurant and one full service restaurant & bar called "The Cellar". The Ludhiana Franchise is located opposite the Verka Milk Plant in Ludhiana and has a family restaurant on the upper ground, a fine dining restaurant and bar called "Down Under" on the lower ground and two large sized indoor banquet halls for conferences and parties for any occasion. In 2004 another addition to the Hot Millions chain was made in the picturesque state of Himachal Pradesh close to the town of Dharampur on the way to Shimla, called Hot Millions Dharampur aptly. This restaurant caters to the need of the traveler on the main national highway to Shimla. The menu comprises of items from a variety of cuisines. |
